The Board of the Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation consists of up to eight volunteers, each of whom is
responsible for a specific portfolio.
We also have committees of volunteers who assist individual Directors to manage their portfolio. If you are interested in becoming involved as a volunteer or Board member, please do not hesitate to contact us. Working with the Foundation is an empowering way to contribute to the Meaford community through arts and culture.
Rod MacAlpine (Chair) is a well-known retired real estate agent in Meaford. He is a past-President of the Meaford and District Chamber of Commerce, and a past Director of the Canadian Ski Patrol System. Before moving permanently to Meaford, he was in the Canadian Army, and was the Commanding Officer of the Central Area Land Forces Training Base.
Ted Brown (Vice Chair) joined the Foundation in 2005 and brings 50 years of experience in building construction & trade show project management. He is involved with two companies, one for specialty construction project management and the other a manufacturer of special signage and graphic applications. Ted has masterminded many fundraisers in the Municipality.
Susan Greenham (Director, Theming) became a Director on the Board in 2013. She has more than 30 years experience working with the York Catholic District School Board, 7 years working with the Metropolitan Toronto Police Department and has volunteered extensively with various youth groups.
Joanne McKenzie (Director, Community Outreach & Artistic Director of MIFF) joined the board in 2013, her love of arts, culture and music is a perfect fit for the Foundation. Since moving to Meaford she’s been involved with Meaford Community Theatre and the Reef Boat Club. Joanne worked for 30 years in the steel industry.
Clive Van Wert (Director, Marketing) joined the Board in 2013 and has been applying his marketing background to the Foundation’s various endeavours, helping to increase the promotion of MIFF in 2014 and guide the redevelopment of the new MHCF website.
Lesley Kenyon (Director, Friends of the Foundation) joined the board in 2015 and has been working hard to build the Friends of the Foundation Program and provide updates to members via e-blasts. Many of you may recognize Lesley from her extensive volunteer work in the community with organizations like the Meaford Hospital Auxiliary and Meaford Scarecrow Invasion & Family Festival.
Clark Little (Director, Fundraising) joined the board in 2015. He retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force following a career that spanned 31 years. Subsequent to his military career, he worked in the global aerospace sector for a number of major companies. Clark moved permanently to Meaford in the summer of 2014 and became actively volunteered in MIFF, the Silent Auction and more recently, spear-headed fundraising for the Meaford Hall balcony renovation.
Joan Brown (Director, Graphics) joined the board in 2016. She is managing the Foundation & MIFF websites, Autumn Celebration’s online auction, corporate images and promotional material. She has 35 years of experience in graphic design and illustration.
